I’m sorry
Not for my actions
I wish I could be
sorry for them
But sorry for the
thoughts that I thought were true
For wasting my
thoughts on something that continues to nothing
It’s my fault, I allowed
it to get to me when it was just a typical teenage move
That night, when you
said that, I try to erase my memories of it
But no Advil can
clear my head of your words, or you
I want to know how you
see me
I thought I knew you
I’m sorry
This poem is very nicely laid out. It shows the power of the 2 heartfelt words at beginning and end. Everything inbetween helps the reader see what you're feeling, and at the end, when you repeat the opening words, we feel it.
